San Marcos River Dive – January 19-20, 2008
Our January outing will be to the San Marcos River and will take place on Saturday and Sunday, January 19-20. We plan to start the dive on Saturday at the usual meeting place of the Aquarena Springs Drive Bridge (on the Texas State University campus, formerly Southwest Texas State University) at the river about 1 PM. Please see the accompanying map that notes the entry and exit points, as well as the location of Motel 6 and the San Marcos River Pub and Grill. George Bartulevicz is the trip coordinator and his cell number is 817-937-5209. Call if you are running late so we will know to wait for you. We will have a prize for the collector of the most unusual object. Dinner together, will most likely be at the San Marcos Pub and Grill.
If you have never participated in this dive, it is a very interesting and rewarding dive experience. The initial portion of the dive features drift diving and ocean quality “vis”, so this is truly one unique dive experience.
Those who will be staying the night will most likely be at the Motel 6 in San Marco. You can make your reservations by calling (512) 396-8705. Rates, if booked on-line ($35.99 + tax) and $41.99 for double occupancy. Prices may change so book soon!
